April 28 GamesThe console has been out of commission for a while. And last week H decided to have a look on what was wrong with it. He found a piece of P's puzzle in the console. I don't know how it got there. All this time I thought there must be some technically wrong with it. As it wouldn't read any cd/dvd that we put in it. Anyway, now that it has been fixed, P is somehow into playing GT, and Top Spin again. Though I see nothing wrong with it, but he should be a little bit more mobile, better for him. Last week a friend of H's came up from Sydney to visit. They had the usual "boys night out" both friday and saturday night. D has now left us for London to try his luck. While the boys were home they played GT for ages. I somehow got annoyed because I miss watching tv and all. But I did manage to read more of the books that I borrowed from the library. I heared that Sony has planned on releasing PS 3 early November in Japan, North America and Europe simultaneously. God knows how long it'll take for us to get our hands on them. Love em or not, gaming consoles are here to stay. As they say, everything in moderation is good for you. I think I am getting addicted to playing Sims, again! April 21 Friday night, date nightBack in the day friday night was called "date night". Often times you would not want to be stuck at home on a friday night. I didn't want to, particularly this night. So I made a date! Guess who? It's another male, not H. Come on make a guess....
We had a Brazilian buffet, traditional Fejiao Maravilha (traditional rice dish), Arroz Coco, Frutos Do Mar (seafood dish), Brazilian Mistura de le Legunes (traditional bean mixture), Batata com creme (potato & cream), Traditional Batata com Alho (garlic potato), Brazilian Fresh Salad, Tomato Salad, Tropical mixture of exotic fruits.
And while devouring dinner the waiters move from table to table bringing different types of meats on skewers (called churrascaria de rodizio) from which they slice portions onto your place. The meat is flamed grilled over a wood fire. The meats used are Brazilian sausage, different cuts of beef, pork tenderloin and chicken. One that we both liked the most was flamed grilled pineapple with honey. It was DIVINE.
Suffice to say, dinner and show was a great hit for my date. We both enjoyed each other's company. Clapped, swinged our hips, shook our shoulders, did some salsa, a little bit of lambada, joined the conga line, even tried to limbo rock! The only thing that we didn't do is capoeria, but that's for another night I suppose. I must say this was the fun date I've ever been. And presumably the most exercise I've had for yonks.
Now if only I can keep up with the beat.... it goes one two three step forward, one two three step backwards. Or was it the other way around?
Have a fantabulous weekend
P.S.
My date loves his women! April 16 Rice Vermicelli with PrawnsBecause it's the lenten season. I've decided to make this dish. A diiferent version of pancit bihon. Not bad at all.

April 12 The Workshops Rail Museum Queensland - IpswichEaster holidays is here. And keeping the little ones busy is somewhat a bigger task than it usually is. We found this lovely place and the boys just went amock. Good one though, even my girlfriend and I had a great time. It was pretty huge. I miss going to places like these, now that P is older it might actually be easier to do it. I highly recommend this place.
Imagine an historic and interactive journey in real surroundings, through an Australian railway workshop as it operated over 100 years ago. The birthplace of Queensland’s railways - The Workshops at the North Ipswich rail yards - was revived and developed into a ‘living history’ experience with $15 million in funding from the Queensland Heritage Trails Network.
Now a part of the Queensland Museum, The Workshops Rail Museum Queensland incorporates an international standard museum with interactive interpretations of rail history in Queensland, the workers and their stories. Visitors can watch workers as they restore parts of Queensland Rail’s (QR) Heritage Fleet of steam locomotives and enjoy close-up exhibitions of rolling stock and a huge model railway. A special feature of The Workshops is a multimedia glimpse into the rail transport of today and the future, including a simulated ride on the high-speed tilt train. Visitors can expect an historic and interactive journey, in real surroundings, through an Australian railway workshop as it operated over 100 years ago, a step back in time but with a view to the future. North Street North Ipswich Qld 4305 Just 40 minutes from downtown Brisbane! April 05 Kindergarten SongsOver the weekend I learned 2 new songs from P. They are "I'm a witch" and "Boa Constrictor". Prior to learning the songs, P was singing to himself. At first I couldn't figure out what he was humming. At some point I thought P was just being silly, as I've never heared of these songs before. I asked him profusely to sing them over and over until I got it. Took a while, but once I learned the lyrics and tune, we were singing to our hearts content. Much to the delight of moi and H. In return P was his most happiest when I was singing and being silly with him. I must admit that I had heaps of fun with him. At least now I can sing along with him when the need arises. I should record it so we can listen to it in a few years time. Try to make him red on his 21st birthday fete. Sounds like an excellent idea eh?
So here's the lyrics (at least what I learned from him anyway
I'm a witch
I'm a witch
I'm a witch
I'm a witch
With a pointy hat on my head
I swing the sky with my broom at night
When the children are asleep
1,2,3 Boo
Boa Constrictor
I'm being swallowed by a boa constrictor
I'm being swallowed by a boa constrictor
I'm being swallowed by a boa constrictor
And I don't like it very much
Oh no, oh no swallow my toes, swallow my toes
Oh dear, oh dear up to my knees, up to my knees
Oh fiddle, oh fiddle up to my middle, up to my middle
Oh heck, oh heck up to my neck, up to my neck
Oh dread, oh dread up to my head, up to my head
And pull him off and throw him away
I think hearing my boy sing is the most precious thing there is on this earth. Then there's his version of "September", "Sing a song", "Let's groove", "Boogie wonderland". Me thinks he got it from my side of the family. So now we both sing out loud when earth wind and fire is blaring from our cd player in the car. Not bad, not bad at all. We could probably do duets. Allthough we might need to expand his repertoire. Inject a Bob Marley or two there.
Arrgghh!I just want this out of my chest. ARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!! Why can't things go the way you WANT them to be? Bloody annoying when clients don't pay you on time and dragging the heck out of it. I mean DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGING A FREAKING LOT. It's crunch time again, and how the heck am I going to pull this off? Thing is the bulk of it is tied down to one client. If and when the client pays majority of it, then I can breathe a sigh of relief. For now I have to make do with bitting my nails, gritting my teeth and pulling my hair out. WAAAAAAHHHHHH |
